G and C made the long trek from Malmö to Verteillac the day after the Julie Arkell workshop finished and the three of us stayed for one week at Briançon as B&B guests - which meant that I was lucky enough to enjoy one more week of Katie and Mike's beautiful house and garden, their wonderful hospitality, and of course, their absolutely amazing cooking.
We spent the week exploring the local area, relaxing by the pool (well, as much as you can relax with a three year old who is nuts about the swimming pool), picnicking in the garden, and just taking it easy really. It was such a lovely week!
And as an added bonus, we also got to know Katie's lovely sister Susie and
her husband Robin, who were also staying at Briançon that week. C and
Susie got on like a house on fire and Susie spent quite a bit of time
entertaining C, for which G and I are forever grateful! C was rather heartbroken when Susie left Briançon to head home and we are still fielding questions (some two weeks later) as to Susie's whereabouts...
Images by me.
Those photos are gorgeous! And it sounds like you had a wonderfully relaxing holiday. K x

Oh, how beautiful! These are all lovely images. You have a great eye for photography. I could see framing many of these for a wonderful art wall and to bring back great memories.

Dear Sam
I have only just received this from Katie and am very flattered by your comments. I too suffered from withdrawals symptoms you can tell C - what a sweetheart - kept asking Robin where she was! Hopefully if you come to London we can catch up again and the photos are great. Love to C&G.

Sam
Sitting here at home on the west coast of Canada I am soooo inspired by your friggin' amazing photos that I am sure I will dream of France this evening- I can only hope! It's reminded me that it's been way to long since the last Paris trip. Thank you for sharing your artistic eye and inspiring me this evening! What a treat.

Hi Sam,
I didn't know sunflowers grow by the millions on fields until I saw your photo. At the one place here in the Philippines where I know sunflowers survive, they grow in small groups every patch in a while. Don't think we have fields of them.
Your photo is beautiful, and so is your blog. This is my first visit actually, I was led here by a link on twitter.
Keep on posting :D
