The August 2009 issue of Country Living magazine (UK edition) had a great article on an area of garden allotments in Landskrona in Sweden (Citadellets koloniområde). The allotments are situated in the heart of Landskrona, along the banks of a moat that surrounds a 16th century citadel.
The article mentioned a garden festival at the citadel (Landskrona Trädgårdsgille) on August 14 - 16, so we decided to head up there that weekend. The weather was dreadful the day we visited, but the allotments with their gorgeous little cottages were still beautiful even in the pouring rain.
If you click on the above pic, you can see the sign by the water bowl reads 'Vatten till vovven... plus till icke läskunnig katt', which translates as 'Water for dogs... and cats that can't read'.
The lovely Clare from Lulu Carter answered my plea for a copy of Australian Country Style in exchange for Swedish mag Leilas Country Living. Clare sent a sweet little note along with the magazine and mentioned that there was one house in this issue that she thought I would really love.
I wander if it was this one? Just look at that verandah! And the magnolia tree in the garden!
Magazine swaps are so much fun! I sent Kristina a copy of Leilas Country Living in exchange for a copy of gorgeous British mag Coast. I've never been to the British seaside, but I've always had this romantic image in my head of rainy windswept beaches, fish and chips, coastal walks, cosy little B&Bs - and Coast didn't disappoint!

Leilas Country Living is a new magazine from Swedish chef Leila Lindholm, the author of A Piece of Cake.
The first issue is full of gorgeous photography and has a great mixture of cooking, interiors and gardening articles. It seems to be selling out fast too - at least I had some trouble tracking it down and several places told me it had sold out already.
I have three spare copies and thought a magazine swap would be fun*, just email me if you are interested! I would love to get my hands on the latest issues of VT Wonen and Country Style if there are any Dutch or Australian readers out there who would like a copy of this lovely Swedish mag!
